On the last Wednesday in April, International Guide Dog Day is celebrated. This day is used to recognize guide dogs and give them a well deserved pat and acknowledge the important service they provide to the blind or visually impaired. Read more about International Guide Dog Day here.

When trying to deal with locating improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan and Iraq, the military’s first impulse was to find a technological solution. But in this case, the solution already existed and it was much better than technology.
There is a national effort to make March 13th national K9 Veterans Day. K9 Veterans Day is to honor all the working dogs that have served. Included are Search and Rescue dogs from 9/11 that are still living. Take a look at these amazing dogs.
