We are joining the Flashback Friday Blog Hop today and sharing a story about one of mommy’s dogs.  We are going to tell you about Scuffy, a red Husky mix that mommy adopted from the shelter when she was in college.  Mommy says Scuffy was a great dog and they had a lot of great times together.

One story that mommy likes to tell is the story about daddy bringing Scuffy home from college to mommy’s parents house.  Mommy and daddy were going to Liberal, KS for the summer where daddy was going to play B-Jay Baseball and mommy was going to work for Anadarko Oil Production and then they were getting married at the end of the summer.

Mommy went home a few days before daddy and she left Scuffy with daddy.  Daddy had a little blue Chevette that had no air conditioning and if you know what it’s like in Kansas in the summer, well, then….you know it is hot!  On that particular day it was about 95 degrees and daddy and Scuffy were making the trip to Liberal in a hot car with no a/c.  By the way, it takes about 5 hours to get to Liberal from Wichita so it was a long trip for the two of them!

Dog in Car

Scuffy with our hu bro when he was little. Aren’t they the cutest?!?

About halfway home, Scuffy started turning around in his seat and getting fidgety.  Mommy says that anyone with a brain would have know that he needed to do his business but daddy just kept driving.  Well…Scuffy showed him.  He took a poop in the seat and looked at daddy like…I told you I had to do it but you just kept driving!

Daddy was mad and he pulled over on the side of the road and kicked Scuffy out of the car.  He said he almost left him there but he knew mommy probably would have called off the wedding if daddy left her dog on the side of the road.

Daddy said it smelled in the car all the way home!  Can you imagine…95 degrees outside in the middle of the day with no a/c and a pile of dog poop in the front seat of your car!  Scuffy got daddy good, don’t you think?!?
