Oklahoma Transports Dogs to Minnesota to be Adopted
Mom and I were watching the news the other evening and they were talking about all the homeless dogs in Oklahoma. Last year 20,000 dogs were euthanized in Oklahoma compared to the 11,000 that were adopted. Oklahoma is sending some of their homeless dogs to Minnesota because there aren’t very many homeless dogs in Minnesota. Oklahoma is hoping to get more of their dogs adopted by taking them to that state. They said that Minnesota enforces spay and neutering so dogs that can be adopted are in demand. Imagine that…spay and neuter your dog and the homeless population decreases. Maybe Oklahoma should follow in Minnesota’s footsteps and enforce spaying and neutering. Then there would be fewer homeless dogs in Oklahoma. Gee…what a concept!
Talking about Homeless Dogs…
Mom and dad went to the movie the other day and there was this man standing on the street corner holding up a sign asking for money. There are a lot of people that stand on the street corners around here asking for money but this one really got to mom. He had his two dogs with him and he was asking for money to feed his dogs. Mom is such a sucker that she made dad turn around and give him some money. Well, mom and dad went to the movie again the next day and he was there again. (By the way, they never go to the movies. Don’t know what got into them those two days!) When they got out of the movie the man was gone. Mom didn’t think much about it until they got up on the highway and she looked down and saw him putting up a tent back off the highway. How sad is that
Most people would give up their dogs but not this guy. Good for him to keep his dogs and take care of them. Sure do hope things turn around for him soon and he and his dogs have a warm place to sleep.
Enough of sad…
Are you all ready to go to the Valentine’s Day Ball? We’ll see ya all there! Have a great weekend!

That Pixel must be some kitty to handle two manly dawgs like you…You all look great in your dress-up duds and I can’t wait to see you at the Ball! Interesting that Oklahoma would rather ship dogs than spay & neuter…gotta wonder about that…Hope that man & his dogs make it through the Winter
Yep…Pixel is somethin’ special! We are so excited!
OMD! You are talking about my state MN! We have plenty of homeless pets but I do think we have less than many states. TX and FL always seem to have a lot. I know spay and neuter is big here and let’s face it…in the winter months with so much cold…even animals aren’t interested in going out and “getting it on” so maybe that slows things down too! Mom always adopts shelter kitties and she had one shelter dog.

MN must be a great state! At least they spay and neuter more than us Okies do! We could learn something from your great state!
Oh my, you’ve done the most incredible, awesome job with the valentines pic. It’s wonderful and gorgeous and you are sooooo clever. Thanks a million, billion, trillion!
So sad but also so wonderful that the beggar kept his dogs and continued looking after them even when going through such a hard time himself. So heartwarming.
