Dogs are always considered as part of the family, so it’s no wonder that we treat them like our own babies. We coddle them by giving them their favorite treats, buying them new toys, getting them their own beds, even talking to them like they were our kids. Most of us have as many pictures of our pets as we do our children on our phones. However, we have a lot of apps on our phones for our kids, so why wouldn’t we have apps for our dogs? A lot of the apps on the market help us take care of, find, and keep our dogs close to us even when we are away.
Pet Master Pro
Keeping all of your dog’s medical information in one place has never been easier with the Pet Master Pro. The app lets you create profiles for all of your pets and add information like their birthday, breed, vaccinations, and medication. You can also add in ID tracking information if they are micro-chipped. The app lets you easily set up appointments and reminders for vet visits, flea prevention, heart worm pills, and medications. The reminders can be set to repeat if you need them too. There is also a section to add in your pets allergies, which is very important if you are boarding or leaving your dog with a sitter. All of the information that you put in the app can be emailed out so you can print all of the records. Remember that most places still need the original documentation for Rabies vaccines. The app is free in iTunes and $4.99 for Android users.
Fido Factor
A lot of people like to travel with their pet, and having the Fido Factor app will help you find all the pet friendly stops. Fido Factor has a large database of different restaurants, parks, stores, and hotels that is generated by different users. You can add your favorite dog spots if you don’t see them on the map. The app is very simple and easy to letting you find dog friendly locations while on the go. In the app you can check out different user ratings, photos, and policies of different locations. The app can easily be integrated with your Facebook account so you can share reviews and pooch friendly locations with your Facebook friends. The free app is currently only available through iTunes for iPhones, iPods, and iPads.
ODoggy
Online Doggy has over 400 different webcam systems in doggy day cares and kennels in the United States. With the app, you will be able to easily see how your dog is doing while you are away. ODoggy lets you subscribe for the service for either 30 days ($1.99) or if you travel a lot, you can buy a 1 year subscription ($4.99). You can check ODoggy’s website to see if your pet care provider is one of the 400, if they aren’t you can ask them to install the system so you and other owners can see their pets while they are gone. If your pet care provider does have this system and you need to watch your animal after a surgery or other procedure, you will be able to check on your dog and rest easy. They also have a system for your home, that way you can check on them even when a sitter is with them. The ODoggy app requires you to be connected to WiFi or 4G, so you might set up something like T-Mobile WiFi calling which gives you broadband services. The ODoggy app itself is free and available through Google Play and iTunes.
Pet Poison Helpline
There are a lot of things that our dogs may get into that are highly toxic too them. This app lets you look up different items to see how poisonous they are and how they affect dogs. You can easily search for items using key words, alphabetically, or even through the main list of items. When you find the item you are looking for, it will show you pictures of what it looks like, a description of it, and the symptoms if your dog were to have ingested the poison. The app also gives you the option to find instructions or even call for help no matter where you are in the app. Currently the app is only available for iPhones and costs $1.99, but since their website is optimized for mobile devices, Android and iPhone users can easily save the webpage as a bookmark to their Home screen.

Some great apps there. Unfortunately for me, mostly related to USA but ones like the poison helpline would be useful anywhere.
